New patient

I just started my treatment with Kesimpta. I did have some side effects with my first injection. About four hours after my injection, I had a terrible headache, a fever, and was very weak. Then the next morning I was fine. I have had my second injection but still not feeling any different. My symptoms before and still are my whole left side is very weak and I walk with a cane. Also my left hand is swollen and numb. I was just wondering if anyone is having luck with Kesimpta and what I should expect? Thank you April

  1. Hi @April 59. I hope you start to see some improvement soon and that you get some good feedback from the community. Here is another forum post about Kesimpta that might interest you: https://multiplesclerosis.net/forums/kesimpta. Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hi! I started on Kesimpta 2 months ago. The first dose was hell. I felt like I injected a virus in my arm. The nurse administered the injection at 5 and at 10pm the horrible body ache, chills, fever and tremors started. The next morning I was fine, just fatigued. The second dose gave me a very mild headache and my back was sore too. The 3rd dose nothing happened and so. I’ve had almost no MS symptoms by far, lot less compared as before. I developed gastroparesis after gallbladder removal so I’ve being dealing with that lately and not focusing on my MS, but anyway my experience has been good and easy,

      1. Thank you so much for your response. I’m new to this whole community and blogging thing. Since July last year I moved to Ocrevus infusions. The Kesimpta did nothing for me. My side effect was my left hand became numb and swollen. The doctors could not explain my reaction to Kesimpta. The more I used it the more my h left hand and arm swelled and hurt. They tried steroid infusion and that did not relieve anything. So I decided to stop taking it and moved on to Ocrevus. Since then I have been diagnosed with Progressive MS. I started the Ocrevus infusions in October. Had two infusions two weeks apart. The only thing different I noticed was the swelling and pain in my left arm lessened a lot. Still have a little swelling and pain. I get my first full infusion in April. I’m hoping for some kind of improvements. I will try to let you know.
        Thanks again!

        1. , I hope your upcoming infusion yields good results (with minimal side effects)! Keep us posted, if you feel comfortable doing so. Best, Erin, MultipleSclerosis.net Team Member.
