Side pain

For years I have had this pain under my ribs on my right side. The pain has come and gone. I would go to my PCP to get it checked. Immediately they would say it sounds like your gallbladder. I would be sent for an ultrasound...nothing found.

I am still in the journey of finding out the cause of my very strange symptoms. My neurologist appointment is not until the end of May.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Was it connected to possible MS hug?

Thank you!

  1. Hi @Terri2019, thanks so much for reaching out! Pain is such a debilitating MS symptom, and I understand this must feel so frustrating and uncomfortable. My first thought was the MS hug, and it sounds like you're already well aware of how this specifically results from the muscles between the ribs going into a spasm: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/everybody-love-a-hug-but-not-ms-hugs-what-are-they/

The pain your experiencing could definitely be the result of something else though, so I commend you for reaching out to your doctor about this and hope you get some answers come May. In the meantime, I hope others will share any personal experiences or advice they may have for you, too. Thinking of you!!

    1. Thank you so much for responding. If my suspicions are correct and a diagnosis is reached...I will be so relieved...on so many levels. It is scary and frustrating fighting an unknown enemy.
