Tysabri and swelling

Hello, I've been on Tysabri 10+ years. Usually, I get the infusions in one arm. About 6 months ago I noticed some swelling in my arm, but not at my infusion sites. It hasn't gone away and there is no pain in my arm. It's just weird swelling. I am wondering if the swelling is related to the Tysabri in some way. Has anyone else experienced this? Otherwise, I'll ask my PCP to look for other causes.

  1. Hi , hmm, I've not heard of that. I'd say it is definitely something to mention to both your neurologist and PCP, just to be safe. It could be related to Tysabri but it's better to be safe than sorry! Good luck!

    1. Hi, ! I, like Devin, haven't heard of this happening before. I would definitely follow up with your PCP and neurologist about this, just to be safe. Swelling is listed as a possible side effect, but not in the arms and more in a 'severe allergic reaction' kind of way, if that makes sense. And that doesn't sound like what you are experiencing. Still, I would talk to your PCP and see if the two of you can figure out what's going on.

      1. I was on Tysabri for almost 10 years. I would just use the other arm, I did that, and didn't have any more problems
