Let me begin by saying that I'm glad you asked the community about this. Knowing that you want to get your weight under control before it gets out of control is so important for your health and well-being. I’m sorry you have been trying to lose weight and being unsuccessful. The doctors gave you general good advice about following a healthy diet and exercise, but it’s easier said than done and you need specific suggestions. Plus, there are other things that could have caused your weight gain since your diagnosis, such as new medications, steroids, or less activity because of too many “bad days” or fatigue. Here is a link to some of our community articles about gaining and losing weight. https://multiplesclerosis.net/search?s=how%20to%20lose%20weight I’m sure many others will chime in on this post with suggestions for you. As with so many other things, it may end up being a lot of trial and error. If you need some “discipline” to help you with your goals, there are things like Jenny Craig and WeightWatchers. I was in your position 30 years ago--when I quit smoking, I gained almost twenty lbs. Learning how/what to eat while being monitored helped immensely. You can and will do this!
