Work Mistakes with MS

Does anyone make huge mistakes at work since having MS? I have been struggling along time at work make mistakes. The harder I try the worse it gets. My memory is awful I make notes but sometimes when I go back to read them I don’t understand what I have done. Coworkers have helped but I work with budgets and grants and it gets very complicated. I have been doing this job for over 18 years. I have zero confidence in my abilities now.

  1. thanks for trusting us with your story here. It's so real and I know so relatable for many of our community members. The fatigue, brain fog and many other symptoms can make the day-to-day responsibilities of life - and especially work - challenging. Have you considered getting some accommodations from HR or talking with your doctor about disability (if that's something that you want/would be helpful)? It sounds like you've been doing a great job of trying different strategies between your notes and leveraging the support of coworkers, you just need more support right now. I'm sure others will join this conversation with their ideas and experiences too.

      1. Yes I have talked to HR and my doctors. I have thought and talked about disability but the problem with that is I have no income coming in while waiting to get on it. My husband is on disability and I have a 13 year old daughter. I was told it would take at least a year to get on it if not longer. I only have short term disability thru my work. If anyone knows how I can manage getting on without no income coming please let me know.

        1. I only have 3 month short term disability . Regular retirement and I have 8 years till I am 62.

        2. you can purchase extra STD as well as extra LTD and it isn’t that much. Call your HR department to ask about it or it might be benefits department…

      2. Hi Yr not alone, Ms has affected me so much so. Due to 4getting things and fatigue causing me hell This lead to myemployers putting various in place, at the end my employers had to resign me on I'll health grounds! Have to say my Manager was a great man! He was simply the Best!

        1. , I am sorry your MS impacted your ability to work. But, I am glad that it sounds like you had a great manager! Good coworkers and bosses can make the workplace so much more pleasant, can't they?
