Clene Nanomedicine - CNM-Au8 REPAIR-MS Expanded Access Protocol - Treatment update

Clene Nanomedicine - CNM-Au8 Expanded Access Protocol - Treatment update
2.5 years ago, I was in the Clene REPAIR-MS trial at the University of Texas Southwestern. I wrote about my positive experience during the trial and continued writing about the impact of the therapy 4 months after the last dose. Link below will direct you to previous posts on the trial experience. After the trial, I felt like I maintained most of the benefits for about 6 months after final dose then noticed some worsening of symptoms due to respiratory illness (maybe causing a minor flare up?) although MRI's showed no disease activity. I then had a tripping accident (compound arm fracture,) hospitalization, and temporary discontinuation of my DMT (Zeposia) in September 2023 which caused significant foot drop, balance, double vision and numbness issues. I believe the consistent pain and lack of rest from the accident/surgery exacerbated my MS symptoms.

Fast forward to today - I am extremely fortunate that the leadership at Clene and UTSW made available CNM-Au8 treatment under the FDA "compassionate use" expanded access protocol (EAP) for those that were in the REPAIR-MS trial. The EAP was approved by the FDA last December and I was finally able to restart taking CNM-Au8 six weeks ago - dosage is 30mg of multi-faceted gold nanocrystals in 2oz of water. It's tasteless and I drink it every morning 30 min before any food intake.
There have been no adverse side effects. Overall experience is positive thus far - as it was 2 years ago. A few days ago, I was able to go down stairs without holding the railing and I can now maintain balance standing on my "weak" leg for over 30 seconds. I'm also experiencing less foot drop issues/numbness, better visual acuity and improved overall energy/strength. According to my Apple watch health app, my walking speed/step length has slightly improved. I will continue to report any further improvements during the 19 month EAP. 1. I truly appreciate your updates, ! And I'm thankful you provided those links so I didn't have to go looking for them 😉 !

I am so glad you were able to restart the treatment protocol and are seeing benefits.

I do hope if this study goes well, that other people will be able to make use of this treatment. I know when it comes to research and test studies, it can take a long time to get treatments out to the public, but here's hoping.

Thanks again for the update and I am glad you are doing well!

    Best, Erin, team Member.
