Family and MS

My MS story is kind of like a family affair. I was diagnosed with MS in 2004 and I am an identical twin and she was diagnosed in 2005. My twin is now in a wheelchair. My husband was diagnosed in 2020. The doctor thinks he has had it for a while but the symptoms started to flare up in 2020. As we’ve gotten older, we are now all 64 I had to retire at 62 as well as my husband. We are on Social Security disability. Things have been tough, but we’re getting through. I have three adult children who have been wonderful.

  1. Thanks for sharing part of your MS story with us, ! I find it very interesting that you have so much MS in your family. I wouldn't wish MS on anyone, but it sounds like you have people in your life who definitely understand what you are going through and you can understand what they are experiencing.

It sounds like you're keeping a positive attitude, despite what MS has thrown your way. And, if you have great adult children, it means you and your husband did a good job raising some awesome humans. I am glad they are a source of love and support for you both.

    Thanks again for sharing!

    1. Oh wow, that is quite the MS family ! I grew up with my grandfather who also had MS, so I am accustomed to the family aspect of it, but obviously not as much as you! I'm sure it helps a little that at least you all understand each other!
