Help

I have not been diagnosed yet . They have done 4 MRI. My problem is severe balance. This has been going on for 6 months . Extreme fatigue numbness in my foot and part of my left lower leg. My memory is not good. I forget words. I'm 81. I think my doctors think it is all in my head. I walk like a drunk and have to use a walker all the time. I'm venting now because no one really listens to me

  1. Hi . I wish you had more attentive and compassionate doctors. Have you considered finding someone new? Did the MRIs show any lesions? If not, there are several other health conditions that mimic MS and should be ruled out. Here is a link to an article that lists them: https://multiplesclerosis.net/diagnosis/ruling-out-other-health-conditions. Do you think they are downplaying your symptoms because of your age? If so, I would urge you to be straightforward about your suspicions and come right out and ask. Sometimes, that is all it takes to wake doctors up and make them realize that they need to change their approaches. Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
