Hip Surgery

Recently on my birthday, August 2, I fell and had to have hip surgery. Then I fell again and The rehab hospital on 19 August. I had to have Revision to the hip surgery. I went to another rehab hospital until three weeks ago Monday.
I have A physical therapist visit me twice a week.
My hip pain tends to run up by my right incision, but is also instructing my being able to straighten that leg.
I don’t have a solution to it, but try to do the exercises given to me to release my inner hip and outer hip joints. I function on a cocktail of Tylenol cut by ibuprofen. Tylenol every six hours, ibuprofen in between after three hours. I do take gummies. I got put on the list by my Neuro. That is the only way I can get to sleep after a frustrating day with my leg. I hope that helps somebody.

  1. You have really been going through it, ! I am sorry you have been dealing with falls and hip issues and I hope the revision does the trick. It sounds like you are doing what you can, between the PT visits and trying to do those exercises as well. I will say that the more you can safely do the exercises recommended by the PT, the better. Consistency really helps, especially as you are healing and your body is adjusting to the changes in your hip.

Thanks for sharing what helps you deal with the pain as you recover. I hope you stay fall free and start feeling even better very soon!

    1. - I'm so sorry to hear that you had two falls and two surgeries in basically two weeks. I hope that the revision surgery heals well for you. Recovery from joint replacement can be long and hard. (I had both my knees replaced in 2021.) But it sounds like you are doing what you need to do to help your body recover. I found that the exercises the PT recommended were often really uncomfortable, but they were the ones that helped the most in regaining mobility, flexibility, and strength. Thank you for sharing how you are doing. Best wishes, Lisa
