Pregnancy and MS

Hi everyone- I’m starting to think about getting pregnant in the next year or so. I was curious for any ladies here who has gotten pregnant while having MS. Im currently on vumerity and two doctors I talked to said they would just take me off completely foe during time.

I wanted to get some insight for the path anyone who has gotten pregnant and got taken off meds, and how you and your baby did. Thank you!

  1. Hi, ! I am so glad you posted this and I hope lots of members chime in with helpful feedback. Many women (but not all) actually do well with their MS during pregnancy. However, that's no guarantee that you won't experience symptoms during any potential pregnancy.

A few of our contributors have written about pregnancy and MS and you might find their insights helpful. 1. I totally agree that being pregnant with any chronic condition is a definite challenge. It is SO worth it, at least to me. I won't say it was easy but I myself had to come off some meds that were not supposed to be good to take while pregnant. It made me feel uneasy because I had relied on them and had been on a few for a while. I ended up being ok and my baby too though which was good. Although I don't live with MS, I can relate in that I live with chronic conditions, and one actually went into "remission" during my pregnancy. I can't say that would happen to anyone else as everyone has a different experience, but it was a part of my personal pregnancy story that I was thankful for.
I hope you find the information you are looking for while exploring this topic. I wish you the best with pregnancy! Feel free to reach out anytime.
