Relationship with MS

There are so many creative people here that I think it might be interesting to toss out a challenge and get your response. If you were to write a script or screenplay about your life with MS, what would that relationship look like? Is it a Hallmark movie or a Stephen King horror tale or something else? Let your fingers and imagination fly and tell us about your relationship with MS. I look forward to reading your thoughts, Laura, DX '08

  1. what a fun question/challenge. I'm going to put my thinking cap on. The first thing that comes to mind is that it was a significant gut check for me. It really had me re-evaluate how well I take care of myself and how much I prioritize the things that are most important to me. It's also grown my faith tremendously. Thanks for sparking such an interesting discussion.

      2. thanks for the laugh! I hadn't thought of that reply but it is spot on. - Laura

    2. I often think of my time with MS is like having a child. It starts as an infant that I haven't a clue how to take care of and over years of experience I finally figure it out. The adolescent and teen years are ugly, and sadly it is a 'child' that never moves out and goes to live on their own.

      1. as I was reading your reply I was envisioning a Marvel sequel. You got me giggling with the flamethrower imagery. What a great answer to my question.

      2. I also thought of FULL HOUSE with all the wacky characters but that one truly ages me. LOL

    3. what a fun idea! Being undiagnosed, my screenplay would have a bit of a different direction...

I'm thinking murder mystery style with the innocuous meeting of strangers coming together with the blind invitation that is cryptic but grabs the curiosity. Throw in a little humor with some misdirection, and some intrigue with solving the case. As it unfolds, you realize that no one was actually murdered and the mystery to solve is actually introspection and personal growth.

Or maybe Sundance style suspenseful stalker movie, where the neurological symptoms are creeping up on the heroine of the story. Everyone else can see as it advances, but the heroine is blissfully unaware until she wakes up one day in a strange house with no recollection of how she got there.

I could probably keep going, I may add more later... but it's dinner time and it smells delicious 😁

I look forward to other folks' ideas! 💜
