Severe Cognitive and Sleep Issues

My mum has been diagnosed since 1986 and now 71 years old
Last 3 years cognitive issues going severe with short term memory and talking to people.
Neurologists saying more and more brain lesions and are now unable to do anything.
She is now only eating small amounts and struggling to get any sleep .
Can anyone relate to this?
I know she done well with her age as she can still walk but now is losing her balance and complaining of headaches when hearing loud noises

I'm saddened to hear how your Mom is progressing. Although, MS is a chronic progressive disease, rehabilitation therapy can play an important role in managing some of the disabling effects. The goal of rehabilitation is to improve and maintain function. You may want to reach out to her primary care doctor (or healthcare team) and see if they would recommend any kind of therapy or treatment to help your Mom. Here are a few articles that may provide some help: https://multiplesclerosis.net/treatment/physical-therapy and https://multiplesclerosis.net/treatment/rehabilitation-therapy

    1. As she is deteriorating she won't communicate with people she doesnt know as she struggles to have a conversation as when someone talks to her if you talk fast her brain can't register the conversation quick enough .
She's on a waitung list for psychiatrist

That is heartbreaking to hear. Is she currently on any treatment?
If the neurologists claim there is nothing they can do for her, reach out to her primary care doctor.
She is quite fortunate to have you advocating for her.
Sending my best, Doreen (Team Member)

    2. No not on any treatment, her GP just refers her to neurologist.
Awful to see her deteriorating every week.

My heart goes out to you both.
There are treatment options that may help in managing her symptoms and progression.
