Symptoms

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been having weird symptoms for about 10 weeks now.

It started off with burning pain in the midback, followed by Lhermitte’s which lasted over a month. Lhermitte’s is now gone but I have a pulsing buzzing feeling that comes and goes. It’s pretty constant in my belly and foot but has also appeared briefly on my head, thigh, calf and other places.

I had an MRI of the cervical and thoracic spine that came back clear thankfully but I’m still worried.

Has anyone here experienced this?

I understand that MRI sometimes come back clear.

My doctor has not referred me to a neurologist- I don’t really know what to do.

K

  1. Hi . I wish you had some answers. I am sure you are frustrated. Did your doctor order an MRI of your brain as well? Since your symptoms do sound like they might be nerve-related, I would ask for that referral to neurologist and, if this doctor won't refer you, I might consider a second opinion. There are several different health conditions that might be causing your symptoms, but a neurologist would be the person to take the next steps toward diagnosis. I hope you get some answers and some relief. Best wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

    1. thank you for your response. My doctor didn’t order a brain MRI. He ordered the spinal MRI because I had Lhermitte’s. I wish he had ordered the brain scan would have made me feel better. The symptoms had subsided for about 10 days then came back. I live in Canada and my doctor says a neurologist appointment can take up to a year. I sure hope not.

    2. I hope it doesn't take that long, , but I would book it anyway and maybe ask to be placed on a cancelation list. Hopefully, all will be well and you won't need to see the neurologist a year from now, but better to schedule the appointment just in case. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
