Frequency urinating

I kept a log and I recently went 24 times/day (5am-10pm). My urologist says it’s bc of the nerves in my bladder telling my brain that my bladder is full, even when it may only be half or a third full.
He recommended possibly a catheter, but I’m not willing to do that yet so 24 times/day it is—I will continue my exercise and handle it. I’m just
62 yrs old and have PPMS. Over 35 years, I’ve seen RRMS—SPMS—PPMS. I will talk more with my neurologist regarding this.

  1. Oh, goodness, ! That's a lot of peeing! As long as you are okay with the frequency for now, then you can choose to do what works best for you. Did your doctor mention any medications that can help with the frequency problem? There are some out there, but they may not be a good fit for various reasons, but you can talk to your doctor about other routes besides cathing. You might find some helpful info in this article, including some mention of bladder medications -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/bladder-botox-experience.

    1. I’m meeting a 2nd time with my Urologist and plan to ask about medication to help.
      Oct 23, next appointment

      1. , ok; that's good! Medication, including Botox, may be options you will want to discuss with the urologist. And I am glad the appointment is relatively soon. Good luck and keep us posted on how that goes, if you feel comfortable doing so.

      2. I just started a new medication today that’s supposed to help my overactive bladder. Follow-up appt in 1 week—hope it helps.

    2. I have learned a ton from a physical therapist regarding pelvic floor PT. Apparently many people carry stress there. A lot of body's muscles are frequently flexed and tight due to stress. I find myself with my shoulders shrugged without need. I am trying to learn to relax my whole body. MS sure complicates this.

My PT said people often begin with seeking urology help and end up with help from PT later.

      Best wishes.

      1. , thanks for bringing this up! Pelvic floor PT can really make a difference for some people and I am glad it's working well for you. It's definitely an option to consider, especially before invasive procedures.

    3. Oxybutinen 10mg
I also swear by CBD gummies at night - it takes a few nights to start working plus dose increases every 6 weeks or so
Worth every penny when I only get up in middle of night to pee!! Also stay away from IPA beer

      1. ,
I'm glad you found a few things that are making a difference for you.
Thanks for the warning on IPA Beer as well...lol
