Anyone got a tattoo since diagnosis?

Every time I get an MRI it asks if I have a tattoo. I asked my neurologist about tattoos and that I was thinking about getting one and he said most modern inks are good to go. Anyone gotten a tattoo since diagnosis and been ok in MRIs or maybe the opposite?

  1. We appreciate your question! It has been noted that tattoos and permanent make-up are MRI suitable and can be scanned in research settings. However, in rare situations, tattoos may make an MRI less comfortable by causing irritation and burning during an MRI. One of our contributors, Devin, wrote and article about his experience getting a tattoo. You can read about his story here- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/tattoos-awareness-empowerment. If you scroll down to the comment section, there is more conversation from members who talk more about this topic from their experience as well. I hope this helps and others chime in here to keep that conversation going! Kindly, Latoya (Team Member)
