How the hell did she become the face of MS. How do you find out you are misdiagnosed. What about the legions on your brain. I guess your doctor is not a neurologist You idiot you have done such damage to people who have MS . I am disappointed

Hi I can understand your disappointment. Christina raised a lot of awareness about multiple sclerosis, and now she has to start from square one to figure out what her symptoms are from. From what I understand, the neurologist who joined the podcast episode explained that MS is a "diagnosis of exclusion" with no single definitive test, and studies show that up to 18% of referred MS cases may be misdiagnosed. White matter brain lesions and spinal tap markers can sometimes point to other issues. I hope she can get answers about what she's been living with for so many years. Jill (Team Member)

Hi, !
I hear you. And I hope other community members see your post and share their thoughts here, as I know her announcement has brought up a whole host of emotions for many, many people.
She did do a lot to raise awareness about MS and whatever her diagnosis may be, she also to highlight many symptoms that people living with MS deal with. That said, I am not fangirling for Christina Applegate. But, her situation does highlight the need for even more research and funding for MS and other neurological conditions.
And, we had a former health leader here who was diagnosed with MS only to be later told she did not have MS, but something else. You can read about her experience here -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/mog-ad-misdiagnosis. Misdiagnosis definitely happens more than any of us would like. And, I hope all the attention her announcement has brought to MS does help keep MS on the public's mind.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. I know you're not the only one feeling ticked off and annoyed today!
