The different stages of MS disease process and symptoms even though stable

Hi. I was dx with RRMS in October 2012. Began with an injection then a pill now in an infusion since July 2018. MRI's come back as no new lesions, MS is stable.

My question: can a person remain in the RRMS stage for the entire duration of their life?

Also, how can I still experience worsening of my symptoms but zero evidence of lesions??

Thats what confuses me.

Thank you 😊

  1. Hi great questions. Yes a person can remain in the RRMS stage. RRMS can progress to Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. But DMTs are highly effective, allowing many individuals to never leave the RRMS stage. I am attaching two of our members' stories about lesions: https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/stable-disease-improvement and https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/mri-problem. I hope this is helpful. Jill (Team Member)

  2. Thanks so much Jill

  3. The thing you said about worsening of symptoms, etc., but no proof basically no new lesions that type of thing I have experienced that many times through the years of this journey
