All Things Art with the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America

For many people living with multiple sclerosis, creating and admiring artwork is a hobby that allows for expression in a unique and creative way without boundaries. Over the next few months, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is working to highlight the positive impact that art has on the MS community.

MSAA’s Virtual Art Tour

To start, MSAA will be hosting our “Improving Lives Through Art Virtual Tour” on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM EST. Take a virtual art tour and explore the artwork of artists — from Michelangelo to Munch — who used art as a form of therapeutic expression. Join art enthusiast Joe Caliva who will provide his unique perspective and insight. General tickets cover virtual admission and premium tickets include a gift basket of goodies to snack and sip on during the event. Please note that premium tickets must be purchased by March 1, 2021 in order to have your gift basket shipped in time for the event. To get your tickets, visit this link.

Improving Lives Through Art Paint-Along

The second virtual event in this series, the “Improving Lives Through Art Paint-Along” will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM EST. Using the painting supplies that MSAA will mail in advance, virtually follow along with MSAA Art Showcase participant, Hannah Garrison as she leads you through painting an original piece. Tickets include all of the supplies you will need to follow along with the instruction. Upgrade to a premium ticket for a gift basket of goodies to snack and sip on during the event. Please note that tickets must be purchased by April 1, 2021 in order to have your supplies shipped in time for the event. To paint-along with us, please visit this link.

MSAA’s 2021 Art Showcase

In 2009, the MSAA Art Showcase was formed to offer an outlet for the MS community – a place where individuals with MS can feel comfortable sharing their work no matter their ability level. Having a hobby or interest such as painting, drawing, or photography can be a positive influence on mental well-being for people with chronic illnesses. The 2021 Art Showcase featuring 52 talented artists will debut on MSAA’s website on March 1, 2021. Ahead of the new Showcase, we encourage you to take a look at the beautiful artwork submitted to the 2020 Art Showcase by visiting our website at mymsaa.org/artshowcase2020.
