Bullet-time Diagnosis

Did time slow down for anyone else when your doctor said you have MS? My doctor's voice sounded like someone slowed down the record! That was one bullet I couldn't dodge. I'd like to take the blue pill please.

Anyone else experience the bending of time like that?

  1. , I can't say that I have experienced a situation quite like this, but I have definitely had that "time slowing down" feeling when in a car accident or getting tragic news about the passing of a loved one. I don't know if we have a moment of cognitive dissonance or what. It's like our brains can't take in the information all at once, so it slows down time while we try (TRY) to process.

I won't ever say I know what it's like to receive a diagnosis like yours (I am one of the few community members here who does not actually have MS), but I can relate to that feeling that one's brain is totally overloaded with life changing information.

    1. I love that description ! For me, it wasn't right when the doctor told me (i'd expected it), but rather when I was about to break the news to my family. That period of time from getting off, turning around, and then telling them absolutely felt like slow motion. It almost felt other-worldly!
