How A Sport Changed My Life

I’m now an avid equestrian (dressage rider), which has given me not just joy, but physical rehabilitation, a social outlet, a purpose, and have goals.
After I was diagnosed, I struggled for years, trying to find an outlet for something outside of physiotherapy and yoga. I needed a lot more mental and physical stimulation.
I took my sport to new level and investigated how I could compete as a disabled athlete. The process has been unbelievable and has completely changed the trajectory of my life. I now compete nationally and have been in the international field a few times. I’m very junior still.
I’m really interested to hear if other people have had the same experience, or would like to know more about how they could compete at a national or international level as a disabled person. Or simply find a sport that is possible to do.
Please share your story if you would like?
I also I’m curious to know what hobbies people have found to keep their mind active while being sedentary. I found my Chess and I’m a crazy addict! What are yours? I’d love to have discussions about these topics with our community if anyone needs support and assistance, let’s chat!
