how to handle the unknown...

Hi all I"m brand new to here. I"ve been diagnosed for many years, yet ignored it and recently received a concerning MRI. waiting on neuro to see me in a few months they are all backed up. So, I guess my question is how do you all handle bad news, when you know you have progressed and getting out of your head about it? When I can see lesions are in places that can begin causing havoc in my life, and i've begun to see some things hence getting the MRI...
I meditate, I work, I try the gym when my body plays well in it's sandbox, I even got a therapist to help me navigate this. Yet every single day at some point I am googling stuff......... smh. thanks in advance.

  1. We're glad to have you, ! Feeling uneasy and facing a little bit of anxiety is completely normal when dealing with something as heavy as this. I can't count how many times I've personally gone down the rabbit hole when I'm awaiting important news, and sitting on Google only made that hole bigger. But I think it’s really positive that you’re already leaning on meditation, therapy, and movement when your body allows it. I want to share with you an article written by one of our contributors, Samantha, who wrote a wonderful piece that talks about finding peace when faced with worry and anxiety. I think you will find it relatable and helpful- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/peace-amidst-anxiety. When I get bad news or feel anxious, I try to focus on what I can control: my routines, my health habits, and staying connected to people who understand. Just know that it’s natural to worry about what might come, but you’re not facing it alone. We all get those moments of fear and “what ifs.” Continue to do what brings you peace and lean on your supports when you need to. You got this, Latoya (Team Member)
