I’m considering having a morphine pump implanted to try to control my pain. Has anyone done this? I have pain in my legs and feet that hasn’t been controlled on regular therapy.

Hi

I first went to this pain specialist to talk about spinal cord stimulator to help with the pain. I did the week long trial and didn’t get the relief I was hoping for. The morphine pump was suggested as an option. I have done the trial for the pump with better results. It’s been approved by my insurance. I was hoping someone would have had some experience with it. Thanks for responding I will let you know what I do.

Wow, I really wish I knew what happened with bulldogman! I hope everything worked out OK for him.
I have a pain pump, so I thought I'd add my story.
After going through all of the usual stuff that most of you have, like the countless combinations of antidepressants and anticonvulsants they throw at you, and if you're like me, the open-minded motivation to try supplements and acupuncture, meditation and other not so sanctioned methods....
...of course you try using a TENs units. You go in for a spinal cord stim twice. (Maybe you even try some substances that are a bit under the radar.) Then, in end, if you're me in particular, you wind up on Lyrica, Cymbalta and Methadone, the 1st two being totally ineffective, but you take to be compliant, and the 3rd at a dosage that's helpful, but needs to be much higher to really be effective, but that's never going to happen in today's climate.
Getting a pain pump is like Plan H or J on the list because who wants one of those (?) but I finally got there. Unfortunately, I really need a shower and hey, psst, I have MS, so it's going to take forever, so I better go now. I'll pick up the thread later.
