Suspected MS

Hey. My names Jade. I've been going to my GP on and off for a couple of years now with varying things. Lethargy, dizziness foot pain and back pain and some stange swallowing sensations. First couple of GPs did basic bloods and shown vit d deficiency only. Most recent GP listened and said about the possibility of MS . I'm now awaiting neurology and then further tests. Saw neurology as a private patient but waiting for NHS tests. My neurological exam was normal. Is there anyone that had a normal neurological exam but still had MS once they had their further tests? Hate being in limbo. Living everyday in pain at the moment.

  1. Sorry to hear what you've been through! Unfortunately, diagnosing MS can sometimes take some time. A normal neurological test doesn't exactly rule it out. The most effective test to help determine MS is normally an MRI, often along with a lumbar puncture and evoked potentials (https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/joy-evoked-potentials). The limbo period is super frustrating and sadly, very common. It sounds like you are on the right path to getting in figured out though!

    1. Hi . Waiting is the worst. Please know we are here for you whenever you need support or a place to vent. Keep us posted if you don't mind. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
