Firefighter / Lieutenant

Well, to start I have been working with a local fire department for 24 years and I have recently retired but am still able to stay an extra 8 years if I decided to.

It's not easy sometimes

Going to calls is very difficult for me because of my balance and drop foot. Everyone is aware and it has not been easy for me. As I type this I am laying in bed with my uniform on because it is very difficult to get dressed in time if I take it off. I have accepted these things but it still hurts and I am extremely frustrated.

Ups and downs

In addition, my dad passed away last year and I got a divorce after 14 years but Hey at least it’s not cancer. I did meet someone very special to me and I now see that working out but everything and money Ian not either. After doing 700 hrs of overtime last year because I did not like coming home. I see now how important it is to finally meet my other half and to top it off she is in the medical field.
