My driving

My doctor recommend that I do not drive at night . I will not drive in a city where there is traffic from all directions. I just drive locally since I grew up here and know my way around.

  1. I am glad you are still able to drive, just not at night, . It can be hard to make adjustments when your MS warrants it, but I think focusing on what you can *still* do is a healthy way to look at it.

May you be able to keep driving in your community for many years to come!

    1. how are you feeling about this adjustment? It can be a lot to process at first, but some of our members feel a sense of relief that they don't need to stress about driving anymore. I don't know if driving became a source of stress for you over time, but if so, I'm hoping that this brings some relief to that.

Do you live in an area that has transportation available if you need it in the evenings? Or maybe if you're like me, you tend not to go out much at night anyway. I prefer to go out during the day.

Thanks for sharing this update. It's always helpful to hear how everyone is doing in their day to day life. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

      1. My Neùrogist said I should not be driving places I'm not use to driving to. I become confused easily.
My Doctor is 45 minutes away, across town. My husband takes me.

        1. that's such a great point. New places can be confusing to the most alert and focused brain, but if you experience confusion easily, that's understandable that it would not be an ideal scenario for you to be in. It's wonderful to hear that your husband is able to take you to your doctor's appointments.

      2. My doctor does want me to drive at night. Since my left eye is almost dead my depth reception is very poor. I drive locally. I have decided not to drive in big cities like Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton

        1. thanks for sharing. We're glad to hear that you're taking the precautions to stay safe. That's what is most important. Have you found good alternatives to adjusting to your new driving schedule for examples so good local public transportation or ride shares?
