How does it progress to these other levels?

Hi,
While progression can look a little different for each individual, there are some markers doctors use to diagnose transitioning from RRMS to more advanced forms of MS. Here's some specific information about how doctors diagnose PPMS -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/what-is-ms/primary-progressive. And here's some diagnostic criteria for SPMS -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/what-is-ms/secondary-progressive.
Here's one of our health leader's take on MS progression and what it can look like -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/progression-without-relapse. And here's one health leader's personal experience with transitioning from RRMS to SPMS -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/rrms-spms-transition.
Also, here's some information you may find useful about tracking your symptoms and how to talk to your doctor if you are concerned about progression -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/patient-dr-discussion-guide. I hope this information is helpful and if it's not, or if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're happy to help in any way we can.
