Hi, !
Well, I think my question would be what do you and your neurologist think? Did you choose to go off Tysabri without consulting your doctor (which is your right) or did you do this with your doctor's knowledge?
I know a number of doctors do believe that going off medications at a certain age can be a real option. I know one of our health leader's was given the option of stopping medications and she wrote about it here -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/stopping-treatment-due-to-age. Also, here is a conversation from our forums on the topic of stopping treatment -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/forums/eligible-age-to-consider-stopping-ms-treatment. In the end, what matters is what is right for YOU and your lifestyle. If stopping treatment is your choice, well, others should respect that. And, perhaps you don't need to see a neurologist as frequently, but that's something you should discuss with your neurologist. Perhaps the two of you can come up with a check-in plan that works for both of you.
I am so glad your MS is stable and that you have no new lesions and I hope that continues to be the case for many, many years to come!
Best, Erin, Team Member.
