Symptoms come and go

I wanted to see if anyone was experiencing symptoms that come and go. I live in Phoenix and while I thought some of this maybe a heat sensitivity, the summer is always hot and the symptoms still come and go.

Symptoms that I have come and go: Walking slow, kind of a gait or pattern change and one that I didnt notice until recently is a difficulty going up stairs. For my work, I occasionally have to go upstairs. Some days, I have no problems. Other days it is a real struggle. A half flight of stairs and my legs feel different. Its a weight change, combined with not as responsive then combined with a cramp. Again, it isnt all the time.

  1. Hi, !

I am glad you posted your question and I do hope you get some helpful feedback from other community members. While I can't speak from personal experience, I can say that some of our members do definitely experience symptoms that come and go and those symptoms may not appeared to be tied to any outside factors (like the weather, fatigue, stress, illness, etc).

While this link doesn't really have any answers, it's a brief discussion about symptoms coming and going, so I thought you might find it relatable -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/forums/my-physical-symptoms-come-and-go. One of our health leaders wrote about one of his symptoms, leg weakness, that could show up an disappear seemingliy at random -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/what-does-leg-weakness-feel-like. So, you are definitely not alone in what you are experiencing. And, we always suggest talking to your doctor about any new or worsening symptoms (if you haven't already done so), just to be safe.

    Best, Erin, Team Member.
