Alone

Hello
I have 3 of my children living with me and I receive money to employ someone to help me round the house every day so I employed my mum but, I feel so hopeless and alone all the time. My life is now and will always be pointless and going nowhere 😞
Does anyone else feel like this or have any suggestions to help me to stop feeling like this? 😟

  1. Hey there, ! I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. It sounds incredibly heavy, and I can only imagine how tough it must be to hold everything together while feeling so alone. Just the fact that you opened up and shared this says a lot. It shows strength, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Please know you’re not alone, even if it sometimes feels like you are. Talking things out, even with strangers who understand, can really help. Lastly, I want to share with you our mental health hub which might spark inspiration for feeling better when you're having a hard time- https://multiplesclerosis.net/coping-ms-mental-health. Just know that we are here for you and if you have any questions, please let us know. In the meantime, please be gentle with yourself. You’re doing more than you give yourself credit for, and your life truly does have meaning 💛 We're always here for any support you need in your journey. Kindly, Latoya (Team Member)

    1. Thank you for your kind words and understanding. I think that's one of the hardest things. People don't understand. I have no friends anymore so have no one to speak to even about just normally, not just about MS. My children's dad left me and them in 2018 and all of my friends have moved away to places like, Reading, London, America, Turkey so I can't even visit them 😢

  2. Hi, ! I just wanted to chime in and echo everything Latoya wrote. I know you feel alone and, in real life, you may be alone. And this community can't fully replace in person support and understanding, but please know this community gets it. Our members understand feeling hopeless and stuck and just, well, lonely. I thought this peice from one of our health leaders might be worth a read for you -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/i-see-you. I also wanted to share this peice from one of our most popular former health leaders on dealing with chronic illness burnout. Devin's words always seem to resonate and really get to the heart of what living with MS can really be like. I hope his words resonate with you, too -- https://multiplesclerosis.net/living-with-ms/chronic-illness-burnout. I am glad you came here to share how you are feeling. That's a smart (and healthy!) step! Acknowledging your feelings so honestly is a good start to helping your mental well being. It's okay to feel alone. But, please know that here, on this site, you are never alone.

    Gentle Hugs, Erin, Team Member.

    1. Thank you for your reply Erin (feels strange saying that because it's my 12 year old's name)
I will look at the things you put in your reply.
      Thank you again xx
