legs give out and I fell

A question about my falling and is it related MS. The first time I fell I ended up in the hospital for one week .I had a bacterial infection. I waited to long to get it treated .I thought it would go away but it did not.. I went to to emergency at the hospital. The doctor admitted me , That night I passed out. I had a bladder infection and turned to cellulitis. Plus two blood transfusion because my electro lights were very low. Was that a warning. I do not know. The next time I had a viral infection. I had a chest cold, headaches and could not breath. I thought with plenty of rest it would all go away. No chance. I ended up in the hospital .I had very high heart beat an a irregular heart beat and skipping pulse and two more blood transfusions. All because I let things out of hand. Now this last time after I took my last fall I ended up with bacterial infection again. I was not feeling well for five days with a head cold a number of aches and pains plus a cough I could not get rid off. Finally I went to my doctor. He gave me some pills now after three days I am feeling better. What I am saying is if have MS your immune system is not very healthy. See the doctor before things get out of hand. I am wondering if my falling is to tell me something. Out there is any body haveing the same problems. I have had MS for 37 years. New things keep happing. Has any boody done a study on these promblems

  1. Hi . It sounds like you have been through quite a lot lately. I am glad you are on the mend, but I am sure you are nervous about getting sick again. Have all of your infections been in your bladder or urinary tract? Vertigo and high blood pressure are common symptoms of urinary tract infections, which can happen more frequently in people with MS because your brain doesn't always tell your bladder to empty when it should or as fully as it should. Stagnant urine can become infected. The vertigo can lead to falls. Also, infections put a ton of stress on your body and can make your MS symptoms worse. So that might also make you loose control of your legs. You might want to ask your doctor for a referral to a urologist. There are medications that can help you empty your bladder more fully. Thinking of you and sending lots of healing vibes your way. - Lori (Team Member)
